Website

The website collects basic information about its use, page views and errors. The processing of data is mandatory for the provision of the service and the data collected is by default pseydoanonymous. We use Google Analytics to collect analytics on the number of visitors to the website. Read more about the service here →

We send information about your behaviour on the website to Google Analytics under the following conditions:

  • The user’s IP address will be anonymised
  • The Google Analytics cookie identifying the user will be set for one visit only.
  • The user’s cookie data will not be sent to any advertising network.

Data content of the register

The register contains information on the stakeholders of the Finnish Research Impact Foundation. The register may contain the following information about the persons on it:

  • First name and surname
  • E-mail
  • Organisation

The purpose of the processing of personal data

The purpose of maintaining the register and processing personal data is to manage communication and correspondence related to Foundations, such as informing about upcoming grant applications, events, and news related to the Foundation via email, registering for events, or participating in contests and surveys.

Regular sources of data for the register

The register is compiled by subscribing to the Finnish Research Impact Foundation’s email list. Data may be compiled and maintained manually, and the register may be subscribed to, for example, via the Foundation’s website or when registering for events and applying for grants. Joining the register is done by asking for the individual’s consent.

Regular disclosures of data

The data in the register is not regularly disclosed outside the Finnish Research Impact Foundation.

Transfer of data outside the EU or EEA

As a general rule, data will not be transferred outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. Data may be transferred by the controller to service providers and subcontractors. The service providers and software we use include Webropol, Visma Sign, Google’s G Suite software and Mailchimp, the last two of which are US companies. Some providers may also store data outside the EU or EEA. We have done our best to ensure that all data processors comply with data protection legislation and/or are committed to the secure processing of European data (see also Mailchimp Privacy Policy).

Principles of register security

As a general rule, data in the Stakeholder Register will be processed electronically. The data is protected by usernames and passwords. Access to the data is restricted to the controller and to those authorised by the controller whose duties require it.

Right of access

The data subject has the right to inspect the data stored in the Stakeholder register. Requests for inspection must be addressed in writing to the controller by post or e-mail.

Right to request rectification of data

The data subject has the right to request the correction of inaccurate data concerning him or her. Requests for verification must be addressed in writing to the controller by post or e-mail.

Other rights relating to the processing of personal data

Data subjects have the right to object to the use of their personal data. The data subject may remove his/her data from the Stakeholder register by unsubscribing to the newsletter via the link in the newsletter.
